Moments.

Looking back on our honeymoon shots today and came across this one. I think that this kind of  demonstrates the love and care I feel from my dear husband of nearly 4 months, especially in the past while. We have such fun together and I find joy and comfort in being with him. Even if it means doing old people activities like playing cards or checkers in the evenings... it doesn't really matter what we do, we're just trying to enjoy every moment. This love, this marriage, is a very rare gift and I cherish it. 

Snippets of October

A few glances into my life from the month of October (so far...) I've been attempting to create one piece of watercolour illustration per week- so far it's been going pretty well, but we will see if that trend continues this week... I've also been crocheting like mad to make infinity scarves to sell*. These are so cozy and warm, I want to keep them all myself! But alas, I already have a suitcase (literal suitcase) full of scarves and definitely do not need more. And lastly, a family shot from Thanksgiving weekend taken by my mother-in-law. Me and Him- our tiny family :). We are having fun being married! Now that we're in the routine of things, we've started creating traditions of our own, finding ways to enjoy this merging of two separate lives. Discovering what we enjoy doing in our leisure time, together (especially as we're trying to save money, which means less going out on the town!). Surprisingly, the game of checkers has somehow become the activity of choice in our attempts to out-think the other (all in good fun, of course!) And yes, sometimes we act like old people, but we like it that way.

The Life Aquatic

I just have to post some pictures of our free date the other day! The Gentleman and I went to the Vancouver Aquarium the other day on a whim. We had free tickets that were soon to expire and he had the afternoon off, so we thought "why not?" Turns out, we maybe should have asked, "why??" when the incredible amounts of tourists and children and noise drove us out quicker than we expected! But we still had a fantastic time looking at the different marine life- I could not get over how beautiful the different varieties of jellyfish were. 

Now in this first montage, look closely for a hidden surprise lurking amongst the dancing creatures...

That seal was howling like he was trying to find his long lost love...or perhaps it was just his lunch. Either way he did not wake up on the right side of the pond. Below are some more of my favourite shots of the jellies. Magical creatures they are.

When Skies Are Grey

Today is another rainy day. And I am once again dreaming of sun...where is summer? This picture was taken last year near the beginning of July near my parent's home on the day The Gentleman told me he loved me. And now, one year later, we are getting married in the same place! Preparations and plans are coming together and it is going to be a beautiful day. I am just hoping for the same sunshine that this picture holds!

Let It Snow!

Yes, that is a really bad pun taken from the Pinocchio song, "Give a Little Whistle"... So sorry for the cheese (but not really). I had the chance to go up to Whistler for the first time this past weekend- it was a lovely break a way from it all. The stress at the end of the semester can really wear down on me quickly, so this was a fantastic way to relax! And I was thrilled that it actually snowed, I miss the days of the first snow on the prairies, so it was quite exciting to see it falling out my hotel window the last day we were there. Falling snow is so magical, especially on a mountain covered with fog!

A Day at the Pumpkin Patch

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, We decided to really get in the spirit of things and pick out a pumpkin from a real pumpkin patch! It was a whole lotta' hoot-hollerin' fun (Translation for city folk: It was fantastic). And since my favourite guy is so great with a camera in hand, this is the first ever blog post where in almost every shot, I am in front of the camera (A very uncomfortable place to be. But I had sunflowers smiling with me- they became my support). And it was so bright and sunny, I couldn't help but smile! 

We both decided going to a pumpkin patch means wearing orange plaid. And of course, we wanted to match...

August Round-up!

August has been a whirlwind month. In fact, the summer has been quite the whirlwind summer. I don't have many pictures to share from July, but since I've been slacking on the posting, I thought I'd do an August round-up post for y'all. Here's a snippet of how the last month has looked.

 At the end of July, my dear friend and her beau came out to visit. We planned a trip in the countryside with the goal being to do some horseback riding. Unfortunately, it did not work out to ride these horses as planned, but we got to pet them! They were beautiful.

 On the way home we stopped to take pictures amongst the colourful Canola field!

 I took in a little bit of "laking" in my last days on the prairie. I could not be convinced to do any tubing, though. I preferred to stick behind the lens.

 And with the completion of my job, I began my journey back to the west coast with my family accompanying me. We stopped in Kelowna (above) and the Gentleman and I were reunited once again on the beaches of BC!

 Over these past two weeks, I've been taking in the sights and sounds of Vancouver, relaxing and spending time exploring. The city is quite beautiful at night! But I know this time must come to an end...school starts tomorrow and so begins normal life again. I'm ready for the student life to be over, but I'm trying to keep my spirits up by telling myself I'm taking interesting classes. It's just hard when I'm ready to be done...

Polaroid Party

...or Fujifilm Instax party, but that doesn't quite sound right. When The Gentleman (yes, that has become your name in my blog world, if you are reading...) came out to visit, we had a fun end to the week by walking around town and taking instant pictures. It was most enjoyable on a sunny and hot afternoon.
