Hello and welcome! My name is Jenni and I am an artist, a crafter, and a bit (or a lot) of a dreamer. I'm currently living in Vancouver where I make house with my husband and seek out artistic adventures. I started this blog in 2009 when I was just getting into all things blogging... Ok, that may not totally be true. I just try to forget about my Xanga and LiveJournal accounts. Yikes. But I started THIS blog when I was also starting to crochet pretty seriously. I had wanted it to be a place to share my creations. (You can read my very first post here! This may have also been before I had a camera?) Since then, it has evolved into something totally new, but still holds the same premise...a space to share what I am creating. My most recent explorations have been through of watercolour illustrations and using those to create paper goods.
But before you get to looking at my creations, here's a little about the creator. I recently graduated from art school and am enjoying the freedom (and fears!) of leaving behind projects and creating what I delight in. Even more recently, July 2013, I got married to a wonderful, kind and caring man who I refer to as "The Gentleman" or "m" on this blog. Married life is treating me well and I'm enjoying all of the little things like going on dates whenever we like or setting up our first Christmas tree! I tend to enjoy the little things in all parts of life whether it be receiving a letter in the mail, riding my bike, going to the library, spending time in community, or drinking a cup of coffee (and no, I don't like "good" coffee. I've tried. Starbucks suits me fine!).
Other tidbits you might like to know about me:
*I am a sister to three girls. We often identify with Little Women and watch the movie every year. Although I am not a tomboy, Jo has always won my heart with her dreams of New York. Somehow I also ended up moving to a big city far from home and marrying an older teacher... coincidence perhaps?

*I cannot stop myself when it comes to eating chocolate. I've had to go on chocolate fasts in the past.
*Thrifting and creating to sell has been engrained in me since I was young. My parents, particularly my mom, have had multiple home-based creative businesses, from redoing antique furniture to selling homemade pizza crusts! They have inspired me and given me the desire to follow that same path. You can see my mom's most recent creative venture here- she makes warm wooly mittens!
*I am fascinated by all things old. I'm extremely nostalgic and live in my nostalgia by imagining myself in other eras. My husband is the same way and when we met, we bonded over our love of Audrey Hepburn and old jazz (Billie Holiday, anyone?). I secretly have a crush on Fred Astaire...whoops, it's out.
